A few useful details
Know what to expect.
Are events updated instantly?
Sources refresh on different schedules. Reported event times and update times can differ; source coverage and delays vary.
Why can a hazard be months old?
Some sources keep long-running events open. The source’s start time is not necessarily its latest update. Check the event details before interpreting it as new.
Are all layers available everywhere?
No. Each source has its own geographic coverage and availability. The globe shows the data currently available, rather than guaranteeing complete coverage.
